There are two Anglican churches within the parish of Stanground in Peterborough. This being under the responsibility of The Diocese of Ely.
Our 800 year old St John the Baptist Church can be found in Church Street in the north of the parish. This is the oldest church in Stanground. It offers a wonderful atmosphere for weddings and candle-lit services. It has seats for over 250 adults and its very tall distinctive steeple can be seen from the Perkins Parkway as you head south out of the city of Peterborough.
In the south-east of the parish in Mace Road can be found the more modern-styled St Michael's and All Angels Church. This is the younger sector of the parish and includes the 'new-build' communities of 'Park Farm' and 'Cardea'. This church offers a smaller but lighter atmosphere for worship with special areas for children and families.
You are more than welcome to join us for our church services and do feel free to take part in our many community events throughout the year.
There is a welcome team at both churches before, during and after every service. Do feel comfortable bringing your children along we have lots of toys, soft-play and activity sheets for them to enjoy and there is 'Sunday Friends' for young children at St Michael's Church on some Sundays.
